Babylon (Closed Permanently)

The Sauna part is great. Maze, 'relaxation' cubes, massages are available, steam room, nice shower area, great outdoor pool, bar and restaurant. Friendly men looking to relax. The Guesthouse part offers many desirable options. In the main building bunkhouse style rooms, and single/double rooms on 4 floors. Each floor has a shared shower and sink area so a great place to pass the soap. More upscale lodging is provided in the garden. Beautifully decorated rooms for the discerning traveler. All guesthouse rooms get pass to the sauna. It's a toss up whether to stay at a hotel or here for a couple of days. Access to the sauna often tips my choice in the direction of Babylon.

High End? Eh...

Not quite what I expected from all the positive reviews. Weird and complicated admission routine for the pool and restaurant of you're staying in the hotel. Check in and out each time you go from your room to the pool (bathhouse procedure) and full of loud aging Australians crowing about their sexual conquests with the Thai boys. Spent two night here. More than enough. Don't bother.

They have a variety of rooms from barrack style to suites, to an ancestral Thai house full of Thai antiques and art. The best part is the proximity of the Bathhouse. It really is a gay resort. Outdoor swimming pool, exercise room, several steam rooms, jacuzzi, maze, rooms with lots of hot gay Thai boys. Also available is a barber and professional massage. Events are held on occasion and live music/entertainment provided as well (check ahead to find out a schedule of events)
